Simple Jack and Ginger for me on THU and FRI but if we win the series (or sweep) that is time to break out the "sippin bourbon" off the upper shelf with either the Eagle Rare or Wellers Special Reserve.

Man, I ain't seen Eagle Rare in YEARS. I found a bottle (literally... one) in FL last year and dude wanted $200 for it - told me he got about 1 or 2 bottles a quarter for his store and someone would absolutely pay the $200 for it. The liquor store near my in laws in Hilton Head had it until about 2 years ago and then nada. I can still get Buffalo Trace at that store, but the NC ABC has been pretty scarce for the good bourbon as of late.

If I’m getting a bourbon to mix with something, which is very, very rare, I’ll go with either regular Knob Creek or Elijah Craig.

Any Pack sport I watch, I drink Bacardi with co*ke Zero Cherry! For football and basketball I drink in the first half and get a refill at halftime! I also eat Swedish Fish during the games.

"NC ABC" and "good bourbon" are two things where the VENN diagram circles mostly never touch and when they do it is only with the smallest of areas for the smallest increment of time (basically not much quantity and with a shelf life measured in minutes maybe hours and likely not days)..

I have found one bottle in the last five years at a NC ABC store; but, have found it more frequently in SC and GA and will always pick up several when I spot them "in the wild" on road trips. Currently have one open bottle and two un-opened bottles in the cabinet for those occasions that warrant something of that grade.

From personal experience it’s always good to have a jar of white likker close when watching the Pack play anything.

My last FB game there was an old guy walking through the suites (company tickets) that was sharing a jar with anyone who wanted a swig. Good times!

I ******* up last night. On the flight home, I asked for a bourbon and ginger, and before I realized what I was handed, mixed Buffalo Trace with Schwepps.

    I suffered through it.

From a guy that started most weekends at State with a 40 oz of King Cobra ($1.49), picky I am not. Used to enjoy bourbon until over indulging a couple of times literally causes me to start sneezing after the first sip. Is there a such thing as developing a protective allergy?
Anyhoo, gin and tonic with a touch of lime juice seems to do the trick these days. Last weekend, Pepsi and Vodka put some pep in the step. No one has ever called me sophisticated.

Captain Reserve (or Crown Peach) with natural Cola these days to get things started. Or some sort of craft beer. Or some sort of cheap beer. Or a shooter/sipper of most whiskeys. Or gin and ginger. Or..... I guess I will drink most anything but sour beer or seltzers.

Mixed Drink of Choice: Old Fashioned using maple syrup to replace the sugar. I'm not too picky on the bourbon since it's in a mixed drink. BT is always good or Sazerac Rye. There's something about a high rye with the Old Fashioned!

Straight: Bourbon. Eagle Rare, Evan single, Old Forester 117 series, Woodford Double Oaked, Makers Select Series, Bib & Tucker or BT. Single barrels are always preferred.

Beer: Highland Gaelic, Blue Moon, some IPAs. Light beer is Blue Moon lt sky.

Wine: Wow. Lots of choices here so I'll give varieties. Cabs (Australia, France) , Merlots, Dry Rieslings (German). Sparkling I favor cava (Spain) brut or dry.

Wines I am partial to reds (Cabs and Merlots) with some dry whites (Chard)...and absolutely no freaking way that sweet wines swilll from Duplin County Winery....

.. but wine and sports don't mix for me... wines with fine meal though are the ticket. Sports is beer and bourbon....

Generally speaking, if I'm drinking before noon it's usually a bloody Mary or two before I switch to Budweiser or margaritas but as summer nears I have a tendency to indulge in Long Island Ice Teas since they are easy to fix. (For those of you that don't know me I usually just mix the 5 pints of liquor into the sour mix container and let that rest in my refrigerator awaiting to be served and topped with Coca-cola)
