The #1 place to fact find in automotive sales is in the ______.To effectively sell the customer a vehicle, you need to find out their buying and driving habits. And there is no better place to do this than at the customer's current vehicle. When you know how the buyer bought and used their current car, it becomes so much easier to sell them their next! Work the trade in early in your next deal and experience how much stronger you can start when the appraisal comes first.

My 10 year outlook on the auto industry...Front end gross is going to be a thing of the pastYour parts & service departments will need to be refined in every aspect to be closer to 100% absorption (if not already there).Your F&I departments will need to be aggressive althewhile putting your consumers needs first. Why?Consumers are demanding more transparency. Competition amongst dealers in your region will be ever so tight due to this. Todays car salesman looks a lot different than someone that sold 20 years ago. Parts, Service, F&I = The Future

The Honest Salesperson -A beginner’s guide to SalesStep one - Choose a product that you yourself would buy.In my experience my best sales and outcomes came from products that I actually owned or had owned in the past. At Volkswagen I had owned a Jetta and I was able to learn a buttload by just driving and using the car for my everyday uses. This was super beneficial to me selling them. I basically was an expert in the handling, maintenance and use of the car. Which leads us to the next step…#salescoaching

Buying cars of all types from the trade.

Today, I read an article about Michael Beale's 63 day reign as Sunderland Manager. It described him as a "used car salesman of a manager". 🤣 I'm a used car sales person, do you trust me?For years car traders and used car salesman have been used as a metaphor for dodgy and untrustworthy professionals. Be honest, how many times have you heard or even used the terms "dresses like a car salesman", "you sound like a car salesman". This can be very frustrating to hear, and isn't true! However there is no smoke without fire, so where does this come from and what can we do to change it? Your thoughts would be appreciatedNumber 1) Describe cars honestly and correctly imperfections and all. using the terms, it should buff out, needs a touch in, mean different things to different people. If this is all it needs buff it or touch it in! Number 2) Be proud of the service we give, not just the profit we make. Number 3) The customer isn't always right, but they usually are. Lets adopt this mentality and if something needs sorting, just sort it (within reason).#carsales #carsalesman #cardealers #cardealership #cardealer #sunderland
